I'm going to keep you all waiting
I would love to have room for a Vermont L but really have not got the space to dry it. I first saw a Monty 6 which I liked a lot but feel that an awning would be a necessity which then puts us back in the realms of having a massive tent. I've seen a Glendale 5 'in the flesh' and it seems very spacious and no extra awning needed - I've also seen a Salinas L which was really nice and a bit bigger than a Glendale 5, but that was with the awning which pushes the price up to £800 or so. I have not seen a Vermont M in person at all so we need to decide if we go 2nd hand, save some money and get a Vermont M or spend about double and get a brand new 2011 Glendale 5 with the bigger windows and stability system. I must admit I prefer the green colour over the Mocca but that's not the main issue. I'll keep you all posted & thanks so much for your help - this is a great forum

Thanks Dingus
Nice to hear from someone who has a Vermont M
Shirleys - do you think a Salinas awning would fit? it would still push it over the price I can get a Glendale 5 for.

Have you had a look to see if any of the Kampa tents are suitable

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
We saw the Kampa Filey & Croyde on display at Camping World but my husband wasn't keen - he didn't like the way the metal horizontal poles were visible inside and the general feel - We definitely want an Outwell

But which Outwell is it to be is what we are all waiting patiently to find out. My money is still on one of the Vermonts

After exhaustive discussion and resorting to drawing the dimensions of each of the prime candidates out on the concrete in the driveway behind our house (good grief!!!) a decision HAS been reached. The winner is...
The Glendale 5
To be honest drawing it out really helped. We were able to see that the Vermont M wouldn't give us the carpeted space we were after with the wardrobe in place. The Vermont L (though lovely) was just too big but the Glendale 5 gives us ample room for cooker, table etc... we will just have to be a bit neater without the wardrobe for storage.
Thanks to all for your input - your help has been invaluable and much appreciated. I've found the tent, carpet and footprint for the excellent price of £578.98
- now just need to check it's all in stock and give the credit card a bashing
Good luck with the Glendale im sure youll love it you can always buy a wardrobe to go in it, to be honest we dont always use ours as we have a smaller one which fits in the 4 berth bed pod and cost £2 from a car boot sale.

We've gpt a Vermont M and we love it. You would get the 2 double airbeds in,but not much space for anything else. The living area is no problem, we don't put the wardrobe up at all as the porch is huge.........can I sway your decision in any way????
