For years none of my tent ever had SIG or carpet! Since getting my Outwell with carpet and SIG I have never looked back !
I found that without a covering on the groundsheet I find is very slippy. I even bought some matting from Lidl for the awning to stop anything sliding. And the groundsheet are not that thick so the carpet protect its.

Loved our carpet in our previous Outwell so much we've got one to fit in the trailer tent. You won't regret the expense... (If money is short, my best tip is to tell people to ask for camping items for birthday or christmas gifts... my OH thinks I'm a sado getting camping stuff for Xmas, but come the camping season it's great to have new toys to play with that I haven't had to splash out for)... Get the carpet, you won't regret it! (Not many no votes so far are there?)
Just bought a tent carpet for my gelert. Pack size is huge - so it's yet another thing to wedge into the car etc but it's going to be lovely! May be going camping with some close friends in a few weeks and I'm slightly embarrassed about the plushness of our set-up!!

Hi,
New to the forum. Great forum and picking up loads of useful tips.
Does the carpet just fill the living area or does it go all the way under the bedroom pods to?
Having our maiden trip in our monty 6 in a few weeks time and debating whether to buy the carpet for it. We already have the footprint.
Cheers, Rich
Just fills the living area. In the bedroom pods I used PVC backed picnic blankets from the Pound Shop and for each pod, sewed two of them together and they fitted lovely.

Definitely yes!
No problem about being bulky, just fold it flat and put it on the back seat. Then sit on it, so the back seat passengers can already enjoy the comfort under transport!

Thats all very well if you have a back seat ;-) our car only has 2 seats.
You shouldn't have a problem then... More room for your camping gear.... unless it's one of those posh sports cars...
