Apologies, only have time to skim reads the thread. Just in case its of any help I see that Decathlon are now doing the BS 4.2 at £129.99. I noticed when I went there a couple of days back. That is unbelievably cheap for what a great tent it is.

Anyway, happy hunting!

The 4.2 would always be a brilliant tent for someone who wanted a decent tent but for whom ease/speed of erection was crucial. At that price its even brillianter! Yes there are cheaper tents around but if a comfortable, practical easy up tent is a priority then the others could turn out to be a false economy.

Yes that 4.2 is an excellent price and a great tent. I have the Base seconds which is pretty much the same thing without the side bedrooms. It's so easy to put up and can be taken down with practice and by watching the YouTube videos.

So, Victoria, how are the bedding tests going? Seriously, it does help to read what real campers are sleeping in.

The Vango Juno 500 has been bought for me by my mum! So I now have a tent! YAY. (At £30 it was worth having as a trial tent to see how we get on.)

Now the trick will be doing the whole thing as cheaply as possible.
SO far
Have a SIM, 2 sleeping bags, cobb and all the kitchen stuff from the caravan, have a picnic blanket, chairs, table. Think I could do with another mat/airbed, a lantern, a stove and a kettle for the stove. Reckon I could do all that fairly cheaply? Have been offered a single burner free (just pay the postage). Shame I have no camping friends!

Hey scaryt (how scary are you really!) I'll start a new thread about the bedding thing that under Caravan and Camping Equip rather than go off topic here. How good is your Mum!!! And for £30! Do you know how much these tents were when they came out? Actually I can't remember but it was over £100 and I really fancied them. Last October Yeomans had them for £35 so I snapped one up. I got the colour I wanted too, the Dahlia/Macaw...so what colour are you getting?

It's the ensign/blue a slightly darker blue with lighter blue panels. Looks lovely. She's going to get me a tarp for a canopy as well, so looks like I'm set!

And no, I'm not in the least bit scary! It was an old nickname for Sarah which is still a handy username.
