Good idea (we have the awning too which has a missing strap too so really not had good luck!) Will get a refund on the lot
Well 3rd time lucky on the next tent!
I remember being well and truly miffed about my Ontario. The stitching was appalling.... on top of that, even one of the webbing strap0s had the wrong fitting sewn onto it! How the heck could that have passed Q&A? Still had a guys signature on the little tag though... hmmm..
You'll get there in the end, then all this hassle will be forgotten.
Make you wonder how many people go camping without a test pitch though, and find these faults whilst on their holiday. Not good at all.

Planned for next year, hopefully!
Summer Solstice wild camp.
Chilled in a Field, July.
Crantock, August. Fouth year with the fantastic Quechua Base Seconds 4.2!

Gulp......have just ordered a shiny new montana and awning from go. Having it delivered directly to my home. Will definitely get it pitched before we go away to check it over.
Personally, I would ring the store and explain the problem. They really ought to help you in store and pitch it there to ensure that it is in tip top condition before you take it away (should you choose to get another one that is).
I had to return the first Yukon River 4 I bought over the internet. It had what looked like paint dripped on it that had then been wiped off. A bit off considering the price of Outwell tents. At least the store I got it from (tents4less) were good about it and replaced it no problem.
I understand why after two strikes, you're considering changing to another product but I suppose if you can test pitch it in-store, you could check the whole unit out.
