Von why is it you are so set on a cotton tent ?
The Montana 6 has the ploe fixings that the Lake does not!
The Montana 6 has the zip up windows with pockets below for the curtain to fold away.
Bearing in mind the rain we have in summer , how long will a cotton tent take to dry compared to the polly ?
How do you transport it all as the weight is far greater on the cotton.
Does the Lake have the fixings for the bathtub in the Montana Awning ?
The Montana 6 bedroom when unzipped is huge ! Over 4m wide and 2 m long we use it with a large airbed and the bed up one end allows bags of room for cupboards and dressing space.
The money you save on the M6 against the Lake would leave you enough cash to buy a good trailer to carry it all in !
However make darn sure you buy from someone that will take back any problem bits, Outwell QC has not been that great recently and you need to check each piece with care!
However if you start talking about folk staying over then you may decide on a third bedroom in which case the game plan can change. We looked at this and decided that extra bedrooms for sleep overs came second behind our choice to be comfortable on all the camps where we were just 2. Anyone staying over for a night or so can always kip in the Awning or the day room.
So do you really need cotton ? As we are all over 50 having a tent that will last 25 years is a bit daft unless you have someone that wants it when your knees , hips , and desire for cold and damp wear out.
So ............ if I had one wish for another bit of camping kit , it would be a lockable hard top for our Erde 163 trailer, so we could pack everything the night before and lock the lid . It also gives 50 more space and makes all the real hassle of packing up kit so much easier. PS can we have the load bars and cycle carriers too ..... there are always great camping areas where a good bike ride is fantastic.
With this wish we would almost have an empty car, and drive to our destinations in comfort, now there are two days of every trip that would be so much nicer.
