ok i have decided on 2 either gelert horizon 8,Hi Gear Kalahari 8   so which ever i can get the best deal on and the porch and must have carpet no need to buy until july

so thanks for your input has been very helpful

Late posting but we bought the Sunncamp Shadow 800 plus Sunncamp Verano DL Canopy (fully enclosed with zip up door) from Outdoor Megastore last year.

The Outdoor Megastore model is called the Sunncamp Kansas 8 as it was a slightly upgraded version of the the older 800 model with a higher HH made specifically for them.

If you look in the tent review section under Sunncamp Kansas 8 the first 22 photos are of my tent. The colour shots are of the tent up last summer in Pembrokeshire and the black and white shots are when we test pitched in our front garden. You will see how big the canopy is making both an excellent cooking area as well as a covered entrance to the tent.

The Verano Canopy is where all the cooking equipment goes leaving the body of the tent free for living space and plenty of it there is.

A large double sleeping pod for me and the OH and on the opposite side 2 further pods for kids.

Easy to put up, stacks of room, comfortable, waterproof and at a good price. Not basic budget nor premium.

Outdoor Megastore still do the tent at £249 (we got it as a Loyalty Card deal for £199) and the canopy can be purchased for around £109 but it's out of stock at Outdoor Megastore at the moment.

Hope this helps and provides another possible alternative.

Oh campasarow,you reminded me of our Sunncamp Haven 800 with verano porch...was gorgeous,loads of room...but as there are only 2 of us..was a bit too big.Unfortunately the Haven is discontinued

darrendaz....

Can't believe we have all been racking our brains and you are not buying till July the prices will probably have gone up by then..then we will all start again

if you check the classifieds section, I'm selling my gelert horizon 8, with porch, footprint and carpet. Not sure where you are based but this tent was only used 4 times so is like new. We bought a campervan (and now a caravan...)so didn't use it anymore.

That looks like a bargain to me with all the extras.  Lovely tents.  I would much rather buy that second hand than a cheaper tent new.

no i dont need to buy until july but if a bargain pops along i can sneak in and get it just needed to know which one would be good plus cant see the price jumping up that much i only wanted a couple to choose from saves me looking at 10   heading over to the classified section advice is good part as fellow campers no which tents are good and which to avoid just like tvs avoid jmb they last around a year if ur lucky
