I recently used gorila tape to repair almost the same problem with my vango peace tipi. It stood up well to a three night camp. I did not mention this on my first post, as at the time I had not used it, but had used tenacious tape with good long lasting effect. I did not think the initial bond was as good as tenacious tape though.

Don't worry - after a wee patch your lovely tent will be as good as new!

A repair on a tent is not a flaw, it's a badge of honour!

It can only be earned when the tent and its owner have been tried and tested by Mother Nature. Your experience of camping has gone beyond tame!

You have suffered a trial but you have come out the other side. Your tent is battered and bruised but it is still standing and ready to be pitched another day. You know you have met the challenge and overcome!

...you get the drift, repair your tent and be pleased at your thriftyness!

Sorry I have not replied until now.

I spoke with Kampa and they suggested a proper repair owing to the location of the damage.

I contacted a local company who deal in canvas/PVC products, mostly manufacture but I think a repair such as this would be tiddlywinks for them.

They have looked at and said it will only cost £20 so no complaints from me for a professional repair. I queried any future weakness in the tent in that area after the repair and they inform me if will be even stronger owing to materials being used.

I only took it in on Thursday, will let you know more when I get it back. Should be ready to go for weekend away on the 7/8th July.
