2nd hand Norfolk lake + side extension + carpet and footprint and windscreen just purchased. Yellowstone was our ultimate however couldn't justify the expense and there seems to be no window in the front canopy door which we don't really like and we've saved over £1000.00 so far... time will tell, the seperate kitchen area is a must though! Oh and we only smoke outside too... but side extension will help!

Yellowstone falls just have a window in front canopy door (watch the outwell video) but well done on the Norfolk lake purchase - must have been the one on ebay I missed out on - now I will HAVE to buy the Yellowstone Falls so thanks very much :)
We saw one of these at Caseys in chester - wow it was fab. But the price tag? - also wow! But the person who put up the tent told us that they had struggled to get the poles into the sleeves. Since the poles are fully enclosed (presumably to look good, can't see any technical advantage, but maybe someone else can help here?) there is quite a lot of threading through to do, and might be a problem.
We liked the bright yellow Kauai reef, and are assuming that because of the disgusting colour it will be well reduced at the end of season!!!! Also this tent had an enclosed porch area for all the wet stuff/cooking stuff before you get into the tent proper. Given that the sloping front on the outwell tents is so useless when it is raining, this seemed like a good compromise as the main bit of the tent won't get wet. Will keep looking for the reductions!!!
Ribble
Hey Ribble - according to Outwell the fully enclosed poles help with stability in high winds too - not just cosmetic. Certainly on the video it's moving very little in comparison with the Blue flag waving about in the background.
We also liked the Kauai reef and if it wasn't for the colour we'd have gone for that - think you're right about the chance of it being well reduced at the end of the season. I wonder if you could get it professionally dyed :)

now that's an idea about getting it dyed! Will go and internet search right now. I do wonder if the yellow will attract insects. However, maybe the Yellowstone falls will also be substantially reduced because we did like it too...... but the price tag was a major stumbling block.
Ribble
yes they are a yellow/orange colour - a good colour for feeling warm when campling in the uk! But does the tent attract bugs? I would be interested to hear?
