Just to point out that the first reviewer is wrong - yes only the front panel of the inner tent has the reflective coating, but that is because that same coating is applied to the inside of the flysheet around the other sides of the inner tent. It is not breathable so the other sides of the inner tent itself are just dark grey breathable material. It is the silvered coating on the flysheet that does the job here. It was only when we openned our Bude up in the house to dry after our first trip that we noticed the silvering on the inside of the flysheet. In daylight outside you don't notice it funnily, only that the green colouring of the tent is darker on these panels.

I don't believe that elanman's comments apply to the Kampa inners as it is a reflective coating around the bedroom pods rather than just the darker fabric that most tent manufacturers use when trying to darken the inner tent.

The reflective coating reflects away the sunlight and basically evens out the temperature inside the tent and inner. It certainly stays cooler in the tent on a hot morning compared to our other poly tents. It also reflects back body warmth in the colder months too so we have found it slightly warmer at colder times of year (although our Kampa tent is smaller to heat up).

BTW our 5 year old sleeps well past 7 in the Kampa Bude, rather than 5 in our otherwise fantastic Vango Columbia (it is a feature we have well enjoyed for a couple of years now)

Vango do the Maritsa 500 which is similar in design to the Bamburgh but a bit smaller...

 The Bamburgh is in Kampa's Essential range and as far as I am aware does not have the sleeptite reflective coating of the Ultimate range. It also has the same 75 denier flysheet as Vango's top end Signature range rather than 100 denier. The Maritsa is 70 denier, which isn't quite so robust but there would not be much in it. The reviews of the tent are good. The Vango family tents are better quality than their weekend range (e.g. the Icarus) but even these out perform many other makes. Vango have a mountain tent high technical performance heritage so their tents are very good.

I guess that it is a bit annoying that there isn't the ideal tent just waiting for you, but it'll be a case of laying out your priorities and going for the best fit.
