Hiya, I too am having this quandry, especially since belltent are now fairly significantly pricier, and charge delivery, but soulpad are out of stock for now; and now there is boutique camping too! I'm looking at 5m...have you made any choice yet? I'm so torn and desperate to get out there, but I want to make the right choice...

Hi, I have not made any decision yet as I am currently waiting on news of redundancy :( but I am looking more towards karma's  5m as it has a fly mesh door and is still cheaper than belltent. I would love the 7m from boutique but cant justify the cost lol. Maybe canvas and cast will have more 6m in :) From what I can see there is very little to cjoose between them but the fly mesh on the doors is swaying me

I have two Soulpads and the Emperor from Belltent and the quality is very similar, the customer service from both companies was excellent. The 4M from Soulpad is a SIG with mesh fly screens and as it's used as our out of season tent there was no chance of us needing to roll up the walls but I would choose a ZIG with screens from Karma if I was choosing a 5M again. I know that feedback from Karma owners is just as good as Belltent and Soulpad so I'm sure you will be happy with whatever tent you choose... I do like some of the coloured tents from Boutique camping tho.

Just anpther post about the tarp awning from belltent, I was looking at buying one for my soulpad (love it, best tent I've ever had) and asked people on here for advice.

In the end I ordered one from eBay (the canvas ones from Germany, link is on this thread somewhere) great quality and it matches the colour ofy soulpad perfectly. I got the 3x3 meter one and it arrived about 4 days later, offered 30 and it was accepted. After a little modification (put little brass eyelets in) it works a treat and now rustling in windy conditions like the more expensive polyester ones.

Ok maybe not.... so heres the offer.

The Umbrella Summer Promotion is here!

As we're having such a soaker of a summer we at Bell Tent UK are advising buyers to upgrade from the ‘Standard’ model of our Bell Tents to the ‘Deluxe’ or ‘Ultimate’ models as their heavy duty, rubberised, basin-like groundsheets come 4 inches up the sides of the tent, offering much better protection from the wet weather.

To help you upgrade affordably we are now running an ‘Umbrella Summer Special’ which gives you 10% (up to £52!) off any of our Deluxe or Ultimate tents. Simply enter the promotional code ‘UMBRELLA’ at checkout for your discount off these tents.

I have, in fact, plumped for Bell Tent UK today - a 5m ZIG (ultimate), with single tea light chandelier. I was swayed by the 10% discount (code: UMBRELLA on ultimate & deluxe tents) and the fact that I was doing my own head in trying to decide between what seems like much of a muchness in the end!
I decided I prefer the look without the fly mesh (Karma) and I had a rather snotty response to a question I asked SoulPad which put me off them (with soul my a*se!). I felt that whilst, they look lovely, Boutique Camping were just abit too 'new' and unreviewed for such a big investment (for me), and the lady at Bell Tent UK was really lovely. Should be here in a couple of days - whoop whoop - so excited. Thanks for the replies and advise x
PS, I have also put in an offer for the eBay German cotton awning, so just waiting to hear :0)

Regarding the coir matting I think it looks great too, but I enquired about the size of it packed up and its literally a really long roll. so if packing space isnt an issue then go for it but if like us you have to shoehorn everything in then perhaps consider what most belltent owners do including us, and sew some picnic mats together.

Congrats threebears I'm sure you will be more than pleased with the tent, although make sure you check it out before you take it away camping, we ordered a second belltent from them earlier in the year for my parents but due to the weather didn't manage to put it up untill last week and unfortunately it had a couple of tears in the groundsheet

Not a big issue and they are exchanging it without a problem but just check it in plenty of time17

Our first 'belltent' has been fantastic and I would still recomend them to anyone who asked.

Regarding the canvas tarp from Germany, I also waterproofed it using Nikwax Cotton Proof, really easy to do in a washing machine, although it requires quite a lot. Nikwax themselves recommend 100ml per square meter.

It is worth keeping an eye out on seasonal offers. I bought a 5m from Bell tent UK because they are having an 'Umbrella Sale' and knocking 10% off tents. Soulpad are out of stock until the 20th Aug I think. But check for updates.
