Sounds horrific, glad you all ok. Its very difficult to recommend one particular tent to be honest, as there are so many. If I were you i'd stick to alloy/steel poled tents, as in my experience fibre glass poles flex a lot more and the tent ends up in all shapes. I have a Gelert Meridian in the loft, and once stayed on the cliff tops in Filey. The wind was strong, and whilst the tent survived, it didn't fill me with confidence, the tent blew and flexed all over the place. The next tent I bought was Outwell Wolf Lake, and that was superb in wind, it barely moved. Have you seen the Outwell Montana wind test on Youtube. There are one or two flaws with the test as the tent looks like its screwed to wood, and it doesn't take into account gusts, which are what generally cause the damage. Even so, its worth a watch......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyJbgivCIHs Good luck.......
