Thanks Bob (and others).

Am pretty sure the mildew is inside - tent is up now, airing etc.

With the spots being inside, my plan is to:

- fairly liberally wipe/slosh around the Milton solution. Will do this all over the inside. Will use a clean sponge.
- rinse inside with clean water.
- let dry inside
-if still a bit smelly slosh round the salt/lemon solution.
- rinse off.
- let dry.
- hose the outside and check for leaks, proofing if necessary.

I am eager to make sure the fairly kild amount of mildew and very slight smell, are gone. Not worried about any stains.

Sound ok, for a plan?

I would only do the areas that actually have mould as it will just be a waste of time and effort doing the entire tent.

If done on the inside it is unlikely to affect the waterproofing as the waterproofing is laminated into the polyester.

If done on the outside it could remove the silicon/UV protection which basically causes the rain to bead and run off. If this happens rain will soak into the material but still won't penetrate the waterproofing. It just takes longer for the tent to dry after it has been raining. This can be replaced with Fabsil or Nikwax silicon waterproofer.
