An old thread but now I'm the recipient of a Montana 6p would the way shown on the video be the best way forward for pitching, or I'm I correct in thinking you should start at the from of the tent Gary and then work backwards?
Stick with the method shown - peg the corners and then put in a middle pole. Plenty of vids on YT.

I personally would go for the front pole first as you can have/hold the front door open to let in plenty of air. Dont forget to close all doors before pegging out
A tent like the Monty with a sloping front works best putting the front poles in first, if its raining you can then shut the front door. The front poles will stand up, if you have a tent with a flat front go for the second pole in first.
