Thank you all. Still confused. Don't actually know until at least Friday whether fighting to change tent is an option. But if it isi am torn between keeping my Airbeam. Which I love but did let me down big time in Cornwall during 3 days of rather brutal storms. Mind you we were warn and dry and the tent stayed 100% intact or swapping it for a vermont xlp. hmmmm. Will do a thread later with pros and cons. But woukd love so some opinions please.

ps or the other option is changing to and Airbeam eclipse. But my reservation with this is that with canopy the tent is around 10m with guys. So finding pitches becomes a head ache

Well I dont care what anyone says and at the risk of upsetting anyone north of the Watford Gap I shall continue to Peg Out all my tents may even put one up tonight and Peg Out just for the sheer enjoyment. Then again maybe not.

Katie,
I I've my Vermont - we've camped 3 times this year with no problems with pitch size- if in doubt ring the site and double check.
We're off to Cornwall soon and 3 of us all have vermont sized tents and we have a site to accommodate us all together no problem.
It's a great tent for us 3 of us, and a dog, plenty of room and great if the weather is not too kind to still be able to spread out and play cards, board games etc with our other camping family.

thank you sammi. Have fun in Cornwall. like I said I am not sure if it is an option. But need to be prepared if it is. wish I hadn't had such a nightmare with the airbeam in severe weather. I love the way it goes up p and comes down. But can't help thinking steel poles wouldn't fair better in heavy duty gales. I am not the kinda gal to pack up and come home.
we will see what happens after tent has been scrutinized but vango.
