The angled front is not an issue in practice.
When you sleep with you head at the side from the living space, you have enough space, you don't need more.
I love a vario canopy.
This is a good point as pointed out by TT as well. What aspects of De Waard Lepelaar do you like more than Atomatent Cascara? From my research, both are of similar quality although De Waards are now manufactured in Czech instead of Holland.
It's very difficult to give specifics. I have had 3 Lepelaars but only seen the Cascara in their showroom so a comparison is unfair. For me, needing a family sized tent, I prefer the shape and design of the Lepelaar. I think it is a more classic design. If I were in the market for a smaller tent then I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Cameleon or the new Cerca.
But you are right to point out that Atomatent make their tents themselves in their factory in Uden using top quality materials. The standard of finish is superb. And in a world where everything is mass produced in China for the cheapest cost it is heartening to see a company like this competing.
I also think their tents are a bit more practical than De Waards too....a bit more headroom....a bit wider....a few less pegs to hammer in.
Sounds to me from reading your posts that the cascara is favourite and I wouldn't say anything to change your mind.
Hope this helps.
