Good looking tent Sarah, certainly looks good height. I do like Vaude tents but they are expensive but then the quality is evident.

I used to have a Vaude opera 4 and it was quite simply the best quality of poles and fabric in any synthetic tent I have owned..... And I am a SERIOUS tentaholic!

do the Zephyros and the Vaude have those really thin groundsheets (like the Halo 3) - not sure what the material's called but I like that thicker nobbly type groundsheet as it saves having to carry a footprint protector thing

thanks - I guess I have plenty of time to decide before Christmas which one to get (I might camp this weekend but think it's a bit cold and grey - if I do I'll just use one of my lower height tents)

To be honest the real purpose of a footprint is to prevent the tent groundsheet getting all mucky. Its easier to clean a separate footprint then the underside of the tent.
It may also prevent damage to the tent groundsheet.

The Vaude groundsheet is the thinnest I've ever seen so I've made a footprint.

Like the look of the Zephyros 3, be good to hear how it performs when you get a chance to use it.

Had it out of the bag yesterday just to check it over, and I am initially VERY impressed. From a small tent pack, about 50cm long and about 25cm in diameter, and just over 4kg, to get a proper double bedroom which will fit our comfy double SIM in, and have headroom to stand (we are both about 5'7") seems like a miracle.

It was easy to put up on my own, the flysheet feels very good quality and the space in the vestibule is enough to fit chairs and enough gear for a short break.

If the weather holds, we hope to try it out in a couple of weeks.

And I am going to stay off these boards.... it ends up costing me!!

ooh just realised the extra 10% is till 20 Oct :) :) I thought it was Sept

Yes, Tardis is the right word for it. Am going to have to sell the Vango Omega 350 though, I have restricted space for camping kit and it helps offset the cost of a new one.....that will mean I will be without a Vango tent at all for the first time in decades.....gulp!

well I went to the park and put up the Trespass Go Further 2 man tent and it is quite impressive size wise - I think it's a bit daft having a carpet for the living area though. would have been more sensible to have it in the bedroom as muddy footwear would go in the living section!

if I ever work out how to share a photo on this new chromebook I will do so!
