We've just bought the rhapsody 800xl last night superbeam swerve bigger than the illusion 800 even though the only difference was supposed to be the outer? So it is still unused as yet, two adults and 5 boys from 3-12 yrs but we take a Montana 6 for cooking and entertaining in comfort 😜😂
So we normally get to site we'll put up the main first (soon to be rhapsody) then settle in then if weather is fine I'll do the Montana next or in morning if miserable
We usually do shell island and Montana 6 and Indiana 12? has done us 5 plus years going there a few times a year, just hope the rhapsody is built just as well
We load up an 806 and a trailer too lol bbq log burner etc
I pitched my Concorde L for its 3rd trip this year 2 weeks ago, and using the supplied cheap outwell hand pump was hard work and the top of the pump popped off towards the end trying to get to the correct 7psi pressure.
Anyways like others have said, the polycotton atmosphere is nice and 2 nights were very windy but the polycotton fabric just flapped about quietly although the tent itself was doing a merry dance - they not very stable in windy conditions.
As the pitches beside me were free with no campers coming in, I asked if it would be ok to pitch one of my other tents beside me - this was fine.
I decided to put up my Hi Gear Oasis 6 - a large polyester tunnel tent on my own. The Oasis is 6.5m long x 4m wide with heavy steel poles.
Surprisingly, the Oasis was up & pitched quicker than the Inflateable Concorde took.
The oasis uses 5 identical steel poled which are easy to connect & feed and by putting the front of the tent up 1st, it allows air in and rest of the tent went up so easy.
In the breeze however the oasis rustles noisily whereas the Concorde was quiet.
The steel poled oasis though was more stable in the winds and danced around less than the air tubed Concorde did.
Which tent did I prefer?
Somehow I think longer term the steel poled tent gives me more secure knowledge that it's less likely to fail.
Reading reports on here of exploding outwell airbeams isn't a good sign and as the rubber tubes age and leaking connections becomes more likely I do feel that reliability could become an issue with these large expensive air tents.
I don't have that sense with my karsten though as they have been around for a very long time and have 50 psi tubes, not 7 psi... And iv not yet heard of an exploding karsten! .
