You do have a good point, all being said quite right too, ultimately Outwell should employ more stringent quality control measures for the price being charged.
Getting through the holiday with everything intact and the offer of a refund, replacement or alternative on arriving home probably eased my frustration. Hopefully the Wolf Lake 9E continues to perform as it should.

Both the 7Sa and WL9e are great tents as explained in a previous post. Our unfortunate incident with the 7Sa was quickly rectified with the WL9e replacement which was only really tested in the back garden it looks amazing. It was a warm day and albeit darker inside it did feel cooler.
The smart air of the 7Sa has 2 inflation points one for the rear and the other being the front awning. The WL9e is a beam at a time, that said I have the Wind Gust pump and never noticed much difference. Both are pretty quick to erect it's the pegging out that takes time.
The 7Sa is lighter with the addition of the side porch but you can use the extra bedroom as a toilet in the WL9e for kids.
One benefit of having a huge tent was the social aspect. More than once the 7Sa drew attention and an introduction to new friends and I am sure the WL9e will do the same for you. Be ready to through a few camp fire parties.
I'm really interested in what you did for a canopy - you mention you rigged one up? It is our only real gripe with our WL9e and we desperately miss one. Any guidance would be really appreciated.
We had similar issues with the 7SA - the first time Taunton Leisure replaced 3 of the beams, the second time 2 more beams leaked and the stitching split causing a beam to burst!
Outwell immediately offered to swap it for a WL9e so I suspect they must be having issues with the 7SA and the 9e is there go to 'better' replacement. Taunton Leisure were brilliant and shipped it for free to the Outer Hebrides where we were camping!
For anyone else considering the 7SA I would say that unless Outwell has improved the manufacturing in 2018 - steer clear!

We had a great 2 weeks in Devon with the WL9e, the fabric truly made a difference in the rather exceptional heat. In comparison to the 7Sa of last year it was just a better experience.
Last year I purchased a 4m squared easycamp waterproof canopy along with some tarp clamps and 100m reel of nylon guy line. I tried a few options but found attaching 3 clamps with excess line and dragging these across the roof of the tent worked. It's then just a matter of pegging the sides and front. I had tried a pole at either corner but found it too open. Again the best format was a single pole in the middle.
I did note that taking the canopy back to the beam were the two tent parts join seems the most secure. And again taking it to a beam prevented any sagging. Just make sure the line is taught but not so much that it forces the beam to bend.
Albeit the 4m x 4m works well I'm going try locating a 5x4 or even 6x4 and try that out.
