Hello,
We are looking at bell tents. We really like the range and from what I have read the quality sounds good but when looking for reviews we came across this site which had some very scathing reviews of their customer service. https://www.trustpilot.com/review/belltent.co.uk
We have been in touch with them over pre purchase queries and they have been quick and friendly to respond and based on that I have zero complaints and would be very happy to order but we can't shake the niggling worry over what we read. So, any belltent.co.uk/ Camping with Soul customers with positive stories to reassure me? Or cautionary tales?
Many thanks,
Becca
You have to choose who you trust for reviews very carefully as many can be gamed for competitive advantages by others for a variety of reasons.
If you take this post by LoxyFoxes towards the bottom of pg5 http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=3&TopicID=336247&PagePosition=1&ThreadPage=5&ReturnPage=Search&search=&searchIn=
I noted, a new poster and also noted vango were giving away replacement tents to some existing owners. Trying it on for a new tent perhaps? Now I dont know if this is a fake post like fake news or not, but reviews can be a stark contrast to our own experiences. Even when looking at ourselves, we dont all have good days, I'm sure some have had bad days which then knocks on to other things, so all we can do is just be mindful of the fact theres always two sides to every story and some peoples experiences may not be the norm.
I think its a human trait to focus on the negatives and then spread those around on review sites especially if its easy to do and once on the internet its there for ever.
Put another way, when did you leave a positive review for all the things that you have been pleased with, compared to a negative review when things havent gone right?

Hi, this is why I was keen to get some personal opinions on here, not that that is foolproof of course as it still isn't people I know personally but better than trusting completely random reviewers. In the end we went with the Sibley protech 600 DD from Canvascamp as it had a feature (the totally mesh walls) which we liked which didn't seem to be available elsewhere plus the heavier duty canvas we wanted. We are really happy with this and I have left a glowing review on this site :) I have to say my limited interaction with belltentuk was very positive and it is not unlikely that we will order some accessories from them at some point in the future.
