Tent review now submitted - its a long one!
Yes, a very substantial report and quite rightly rather damning of that particular tent. As I have said before, I have had two Coleman tents but both had metal poles and I was pleased with them but I will certainly refrain from recommending any Coleman tents with fibreglass poles.
I note your comment about the bedroom pod corner straps coming away from the groundsheet too...altogether a very poor show by Coleman and I would be seeking a substantial refund. You excuse it as being a budget tent but I wouldn't say it is and in any case it still should be fit for purpose no matter what the price.
Pretty disgusting on the whole I would say and Coleman need to look deeply at their tent quality and quality control.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
We have this tent and love it. We have camped twice and on both occasions we have had a bit of a structural issue. Once the tent is up we find that the tent is not sat evenly. For example, the side door ground sheet is off the ground if you stood on it i think it would tear, whereas on the opposite side this is not the case. We have been unable to ‘wriggle’ it in to a more even place.
Has anyone had this issue? Is it something we are doing wrong with the setup? Would love some feedback on anyone else’s experience and set up tips as we are new to this!
Also, on our second erection one of the poles in the elastic snapped so we replaced it.
I would like to know if anyone thinks shortening the poles could assist with the above issue or if it is user error!!
