See, I love the Karstens, HOWEVER, if a family of 5, in the UK in bad weather, there is not much room for "comfortable" living for 2 weeks.
Yes, I understand that the "size" then introduces a compromise, as in, you cannot take a bungalow on tour and expect it to stand up to all weather compared to the chances a smaller tent would have which is one of the reasons of buying something like a Karsten.
I have have done the "small tent, live outside" family camping and although doable, when the bad weather hits, it is hard when you need the room outside to cook/live and a tarp is to extravagant for the weather.
