These are the instruction we got when we got our 440, I agree with above about it being tight doing this way, but always do the porch poles first. Enjoy

A good tip I got on here was to ensure the front door is open, this saves a vacuum forming whilst attempting to pitch.

Also to use shoe laces or similiar, to help pull the internal zips along for the pole sleeves, works well that one, which came from jandastot on here, he has or had the 320.

Another tip, we tied a coloured ribbon on the back of the ground sheet peg holder so we knew where the zips were, this was after pegging it out the wrong way once!

Enjoy they are fabulous tents

Definitely do the canopy first and get some of that canvas off your head. Also don't fully peg the groundsheet, just the 4 square corners if that makes sense? Then go in with the back section and work to the front and only zip poles a little of the way, finish them off when it's all done 😃

Well, our first pitching was certainly fun! The door ended up opening on to the hedge; we couldn't quite work out where the front pole was supposed to go (got very confused by the electric supply zip and thought the spiky pole was supposed to go through it, but couldn't work out why there wasn't one the other side); nearly got blown away a couple of times, but my daughter rescued me, and altogether it was a very funny tent put-up! Took us 1 hour and 20 mins, but I think we can get faster... particularly if the groundsheet is the right way round to start with.

Thank you all for your help. We had the only tent on the field that didn't flap all night in the wind, and was warm and cozy and beautiful. Next stop Croyde in three weeks, and Cornwall towards the end of August. Yay!

When inserting the front (canopy) pole (before you raise the front of the tent) make sure you don't miss the pole channels which are lower down (behind the wings, if you know what I mean). It's easily done and then a right faff to take it down and thread the pole through properly!

When you're zipping the poles in, don't worry about being spot-on accurate with either the feet position or the hoop of the pole. So long as the pole foot is near the start of the zip, once you start zipping you'll find you can easily adjust and position the pole it as it goes in.

You'll definitely get faster with practice!

Yep, the Sun-Canopy really does complete the Tent, if you decide to go for the original, a snail mail letter to the Cabanon factory at Dunkerque, should get you sorted, only took me 3 months to get mine!

Good to see you got the "Cotton" model, quite rare now, so you got a result, it was only ever produced for the 2007 season, unlike the "All Season Polyester" version that had a much longer production run.

James at campingtravelstore.co.uk got our canopy for us. Order now as Cabanon shut in August...until the beginning of September. Great choice of tent by the way. Looks like we're going to hold on to our 440 for a while yet...
