I highly recommend Khyam QE tents ie Tourer 600 or XXL classic.

My 9 year old daughter can pitch our Khyam on her own !!!

I have a Khyam 400 Tourer. Its really easy to put up and all you need is a small child to hold up the middle from the inside (at that critical moment!). I've managed it now for the past 2 years when mine were 6 and 9 and we've been for weekends in this country and round france a couple of times. By the way I'm 5 foot 2  and quite a small build. I will be posting a review of the Outwell Indiana 4 later tonight or tomorrow whch we used for the first time this weekend. It is similar (polewise) to the Monty and trust me its not going to be easy without assistance.

You will either need to train the kids or spend the winter at the gym doing weight training!

Hi Dave,

I single-handedly test-pitched the Monty6 this weekend.

I'll admit that the first attempt at lifting the first pole hoop into position (using a normal tunnel tent technique) was a nightmare due to the weight. BUT, after working out a little system using the rear guy ropes and a couple of pegs, I actually found it pretty easy !! If you lay the legs of the first hoop pointing towards the front of the tent, you can lift the hoop from the top and "walk" the pole legs into position, using the guyropes to hold things in shape.

In fact, the only thing that I found to be really tricky, was trying to get the pins in the bottom of the poles - everything seems to be under a helluva lot of tension and seems to need a fair bit of effort.

The other bit of advice for this tent, would be to open the front door, and flap the tent to get some air inside. This gets rid of the vacuum inside the tent, and help it take shape more easily.
