Karsten tents remind me of gigantic nun's hats, but for the price of a Karsten you could buy yourself a complete nunnery.

Been there, done that when we were buying for our retirement. We are lucky in that money was not a particular concern, we just wanted the exactly right thing for us to grab good weather when we retire. We travelled the country looking in dealers, this is what we thought.
Biscaya - lots of models, separate inners etc, fab quality, but some issues with poles/pitching in the past. Lack of stockists? Stunning looking and bags of space (we don't travel light.) ZIG a big disadvantage in France - and the colour of the ZIG not practical in muddy weather.
Karsten - no inners, big money for a basic single shell. Everything an extra, even plastic to cover window openings. Will cost thousands to get what you want, priced in euros and you pay the current exchange rate when you buy one. (get a TT instead.) Only one dealer. Beautiful looking, though. The tunnel extensions etc are smaller than you think, only 1 metre deep at ground level. We were seriously going to buy one and not worry about the cost, but felt let down when we saw one in the flesh and started to plan how we would actually use it. As I said, money wasn't a big concern, but we felt that someone was having a laugh when they were pricing the (absolutely essential) extras.
Relum - gone bust, I think. Not available new for a couple of years.
Outwell polycotton - loads of space, feel the weight, the brand is good but the quality variable. Look fab.
Eureka - saw the biggest one last year in France - not as big as you think. Look a bit flimsy.
Sorry not very positive, I know. Thats why we ended up with a TT.

I agree with CaddyClan on the choice of the two; especially as I think the Karsten's are not the best looking tents (in fact quite ugly).

However, how about a Relum Villanova or Cassano? Canvas, zipped out flysheet...

These Relum's look nice. Where can you purchase them and does Relum have a website?

I think that Relum or their UK distributor have gone bust. I haven't seen anyone selling them for a couple of years.

My Karsten tent is the best I have ever had. The materials and workmanship is second to none.

I use a car compressor to pump it up, like one you use to pump up your car tyre, so it does all the work.

I can have our 350 (sleeps 6-8) up water and wind tight in less than 20 minutes. And for most of that time there is nothing to do but watch it inflate and for a tent of its size it uses very few pegs. It will and has stood up to gale force wind.

These tents by Bardani look very much like the Relum ones pictured above.I like the look of the Villanova 400.

I allows me to take the photos that you put to show yourselves the difference of conception of tents. Sure that we call cobwebs cannot like the wind without etre maintained by attractive yellow threads. Take a biscaya and you will notice that these utensils yellow are not useful A it a big quality difference of the canevas and I think na not to have has to add it to make you understand why cabanon is considered as a rolls royce
