Hi, yeah I did notice that the Kirkwood doesn't have a rear door and did wonder if this would turn out to be the only difference between the Kirkwood/Killington, but it isn't a problem for me as 'she who must be obeyed' said she prefered it without.

LOL at getting it back in the bag! tell me about it!

cant believe my hubby has used the size of our new kirkwood600 to get a bigger car, we were supposed to be getting a caravan, but our rav4 would have struggled to pull one, so opted for tent, but surprise surprise the caravan money has gone on a discovery, very nice though

Well just done our second trip in the new Kirkwood 900, same sita s before and still as bloody windy. Bit nippy on a night too. As ever though the Vango stood up to it with ease.

Just a tip for any other Kirkwood/Killington owners, the first time we erected we just got on with it and put it up our own way, it was a breeze. This time however we thought we'd follow the instructions to the letter....... bloody hard work! The crux of the problem was that the instructions had you putting all the poles in first then shove the whole thing up at which point you can just pull the bedroom pod groundsheets and peg then and hey presto the bedrooms are done....... this is far far harder as inserting all the poles first makes the whole thing too heavy and cumbersome. Just put the central 3 poles in first, pop them up and then peg the central groundsheet out flat, then concentrate on the pods. Much easier.

Hope that made sense?

Hi Dan   just a tip i thought i would share ,  on pitching the kirkwood 900 use your method of pitching the main dome first , but put sombody inside pushing the poles up , it makes it loads easier . + when taking down get some pegs & peg the bedroom pods onto the main dome , letting the ground sheets of the bedrooms dry before the whole tent is put down , the main living area is easily dryed with a towl . Hope this is helpfull

Hi, yeah we do it that way too, I dont think you could put it up without someone being inside pushing up.

Did you find it easy to put up for such a big tent?? and what did you think of it overall??

I also wanted the footprint but Vango aren't getting any supplied for some time yet. So to be honest both times we have used the tent we haven't bothered with a footprint/tarp underneath, but then again it wasn't too wet/boggy/muddy so not too bad. Of course check the pitch first for any sticks and stones which could damage the SIG and we use several rubber backed picnic blankets on the floor as a carpet to protect the SIG on the inside too, plus it makes it more homely too.
