We are thinking of taking our chances on an outwell - have always stuck to vango until now.  Just debating between the sunvalley8 and the vermont.  Neither of us can make that final decision - would love some friendly advice or opinions!

We bought our Indy 8 last year, and it's been great. It's been well used in a variety of conditions not only by me, but also parents have used it and my sister has borrowed it this week to take her family away. It's fab.

Our Hartford XXL stood up to 45mph winds on the IOW while many other tents around us were flattened or had broken poles.

Brand new untested Vermount XL  withstood the deluge of rain in Gloucestershire during flood week!  Make sure you use the ventilation lips on all the windows to stop any condensation (- it works!) Only 25 mins for two people to erect and inners already there - no faffing with inners first then outers!

We added that luxury element with the xl carpet - £64 but it really made a difference - we didn't mind the kids lazing on floor playing board games when its pouring with rain or cold! What I liked is there was sufficinet room in the front annex and awning to not have to go into the inner tent and bed area at all during day (we just had the fly nets open inside for air - no bugs at all as company at night!)

I sound like an advert but it withstood such a hard test and passed in my view!

Also have oregon 5, that I use to take kids away for break - i can put it up myself in 25 mins (always handy when you are the only adult!).  Can't stand the thought of going back to a tent that is either domed shaped or not adult height clearance!

Missed this the first time through the thread. I was wondering if one would fit on - I'm seriously considering this tent atm and that would give us extra space if we needed it.

We have just returned from 1st ever camping trip using a Vermont XL, have nothing to compare it with, but can say we loved it.
In the first week we had torrential rain and howling wind, on 3 of the seams we had slight drips, after a spray with Fabisil it cured 2 of them, then another spray on seam 3 and the drips stopped.
The tent was spacious and cosy, very little inside condensation of a morning.

Totally love our Vermont XL bought earlier in the year.  Withstood the awful Scottish weather (at times), has loads of room, extremely easy to put up once you have done it a couple of times, only downside is I cant lift the tent in its bag - very heavy and hubby has to do it and I'm no weed!

Just spent a week in Yarmouth with our new Sun Valley 8, stood up to a torrential downpour the first night while our freinds Vango's both leaked,  absolutley no complaints here!   we looked at the nebraska too but decided on the SV8 instead, going to purchase a conopy and carpet for next years usage
