Hi all, i bought a Lichfield Cascade 9dl two years ago and it only cost £259 i`ts got a very large main "room" and can fit kitchen, dining table and chairs and a camp toilet with ease. We "the brat`s and me" think i`ts great but we never see any one else talking about Lichfield tents, are they considered too cheap or what.

Hi Nick.
If the litchfield does what you require then it is as to be fine for you. But some of the tents that have been talked about on hear, are what people who have been camping for many years think are the Rolls Royce of tents, and may not be suitable for what you need.
The type of tent made by Litchfield is made with the family that only goes camping a couple of time a year in the summer. But Cotton and the new poly cotton tents that are made by makers like Karsten, De-Waard, Cabanon, Relum, tentipi can be used safely and comfortably throughout the year. But you have to pay dearly for the privilege.
Regards.
Rex

Hi jean.
The Elody is on the same lines as the Andorra with more bedroom space, but the Andorra as the rear door and a separate kitchen if you cook in your tent. We only use the kitchen area when and if I can get Val to go in the low season when we need to close all exits to keep warm but in the warmer weather it means we can have our kitchen tent directly behind our rear door and cover in between if it looks as we may have a wet time.
But for family camping in the UK and the EU in my opinion you will not better the Cabanon frame tents.
Rex

Hi Rex,

We've got an Andorra as well as the Elody & Julie  The Elody is a great size for a main holiday, but we have to take the trailer to fit it in with all the gear. The Andorra which we bought came without inner tent & curtains (didn't realise this till we pitched it in the garden). Bought as a weekend tent, but we decided that we would need to take the trailer with this one too, as we could tell from the size of the poles & main canvas that it wouldn't fit in the car with the gear.

However, our little Julie is ideal. We can fit everything in the car for just a few days away. It's a 5 berth, but we leave the 2 berth inner at home.Big side window, small front window & a back kitchen window, & plenty of space for two of us for a few days. Actually we've now got two Cabanon Julie tents, as the first one we bought (only £50) looked well used, so we bought another one in September (ebay) which had only been used once & stored away - it's immaculate, looks like a brand new tent. Haven't had a chance to use the new one yet though.

You're absolutely spot on that Cabanon frame tents are the best tents available

Hi again Jean.
What is it with tent campers to want as many tents as we do. We have four cabanons, but the bigger one's don't take up much more room as the small one's, as you say, and take about the same time to erect, We bought a second andorra for spares, this year so if we do have a problem we do not have to pay the exorbitant price's they ask for replacements. Well that is my story for the four tents but if we do find a few pounds under the bed, I would like the Biscay Vis-A-Vis we still have room in the attic for it.
Regards.
Rex.

Hi all, just got back from working away over Christmas and have had time to look at some of the tents mentioned on here,  !!!!! Over £1000 and more, first house didn`t cost that much. I can imagine O,H, agreeing to me buying one of these "NOT" still i can always hope for a win on lottery, meanwhile i`ll struggle on with what i can afford.
