Whiskydry, try the video link. It seems you can just keep adding a base to a base with tents coming off.

So yes, your understaning of it is spot on. Your timing of buying a second xl is good too. Was yours with an opening on the side? If so, I am not sure it will work as the 08 2 second xl has an opening at the front.

I keep playing the video over and over again. What a saddo!!

Hi Keacal2705.

Hubby is rather taken with the video of the base esp. as we already have the 3sec light. Just wondered (I know its early yet) but have you been out in it yet? And how did it preform?

I keep changing my mind between getting one of the Base things or 'something else'

Ta

Hi Carrots,

Sadly I haven't set it up yet. I sincerely hope I have made the right choice. In fact I remain convinced it is.

I pitched my new 2 second xl up and loved it but had it been nicer weather, I would have wanted to have been sat in my base or "lounge" as i think of it, in my reclining chair (bought from Blacks today) and listening to the radio.

I also want to buy some Delta pegs before I use it for peace of mind as i have heard they are not entirely stable in high winds.

Sorry I couldn't answer your question.

Thanks for the reply. I think the only thing holding me back is the website warning about not having all the doors open in the wind, so as its new to the market I wondered what it was like to use. You only get a limited impression in the shop and I would have got one but Hubby wanted his 95p breakfast.

On the plus side though the (now mini) pop-ups come highly recommended on here.

Just bought the base full at the weekend, and when looking at them in Decathlon noticed that underneath the canopy that covers the 2 seconds tents there is a piece of material that hooks up near the door.

At the time I didn't think to much about it so didn't ask what purpose this serves, but now its really bugging me.  I have watched the video on the website, and it shows that you have to leave it hooked up, but not why.

I am off to test the tent out at the weekend, so hope to work it out, but if anyone already knows please share the reason for it, before I drive myself mad. lol

We bought the base full today and have just tried it in the garden. We think that the piece of material you mention is used when attaching two base tents together to make a larger living area. Theres a video on the quechua website that seems to show this.
