None taken, horses for courses but Our biscaya is a lot brighter than our old vermont and whole lot nicer to live with apart from lugging it there, three large bags are a pain to store.

Hi , I have just managed to get our new BL6 up today and suprised how quick it went up!

Just one question though, I know that there appears to be no difference between the 2008 and 2009 models but bought as a 2009 model and inside is a card for a competition with a closing date of September 2008 ? Does this mean I have a 2008 model and do I say something/complain to Yeomans ?

Thanks,

Matt

Hmmmm thats an interesting predicament

From what you say I would think you have been sold a 2008 and would definately suggest you let Yeomans know.

Do you have anything to say that it was a 2009 they sold you?

I would go back to them and suggest you either pay 2008 prices (I can let you know how much I paid for my BL6 from Yeomans last year) or they give you a 2009 model.

How quickly did you get the BL up?

What did you think?

Are you pleased with it?

Hi , took about an hour to put up but think that will come down with a little more practice.

Tent is fantastic the only fault was some black marks on the top of the canopy (looks similar to mildew but sure it isn't)

Not sure what to do regarding Yeomans , I paid £715 for the tent.

Not sure I want to take it back as that would mean putting up again to check all is ok before going away.

Thanks Matt

I looked at the bear lakes's. Fully agree with what people are sayiong, they just don;t move in the breeze!
Decided the 6 was too big for us and the 4 was a better size, but we prefered the full "ground to ground" front canopy on the wolf lake if that makes sense.
Then we saw a wolf lake 7 which was great with the full canopy but too big.
So we got brave and ordered a wolf lake 5 without having seen one pitched which is slightly bigger inside anyway.

Hi Matt,
as you have said you paid £715 for the BL6,that to me suggests it is a 2008 model,Yeomans website is selling it for £799.

If you shop around you can get a 2008 model for around £699.

As regards to the black spots/marks I would take it back to Yeomans for a replacement.I know it can be a pain taking it back but if you don't you might regret it in the long run.
If it was me and I had seen those marks I would be back like a shot,£700+ is a LOT of money.

Yeomans BL 6

Hi , thanks for the response. I have contacted Yeomans and they have said that these cards have been put in the 2009 models? They say there is a way of telling between a 2008 and 2009 model but are going to get back to me.( the guy wasn't sure but something to do with the bedroom inners?).

They are going to send a replacement canopy for me to swop if I wish?

Will report back when I find out the differences.

Thanks all.

Matt

Enjoy Buttie...

I had no problems getting a bedroom inner changed last year (and a footprint that ripped after one use)...

Yeomanns seem pretty reasonable customer service wise...

And you've chosen a crackin' tent...

Buttie - just received a Bear Lake 6 and the card in it had a password to answer a questionnaire.  When I entered the password it clearly stated that it was for the 2009 questionnaire and competition.

Having said that I don't believe there is any difference between the 2008 and 2009 models and suspect they are both probably made in the Far East with quality controlissues over the details.
