Hi Jandjstott.
That's a very good tip for the pole zips, will put that into practice, anything to make life easiar especialy when pithching in +40DegC temps, as I have done for the last couple of years down in the Ardeche, your lucky with the 320 only two internal Hoops to zip in, three for my 370 and even more fore the larger Biscaya's, having said that the 370 is easy peasy for me to pitch on my own, now I have perfected a technique, but not yet managed to do it in the advertised 20 minutes lol. as for your tip with the EHU clips, I was lucky with my Sunncamp 3 way unit, as it clipped straight onto the 23mm steel pole of the 370, very tight fit as I think the clips are the same as for 22mm copper tube, the EHU is solid as a rock when on the pole, and how handy is that living area pole being directly next to the zipped EHU entry point, I also send a secondary EHU feed from the Sunncamp unit to the Kitchen tent, in fact I counted up that we have 16 electrical output sockets in all with only one being spare!.

Hi acamper60,

You've got me intrigued, how can you possibly have 16 electrical outputs (15 in use). What are you running? I don't use that many in the house. I also wonder how you cope in France as the vast majority of sites only give you 6 amps which severely restricts what you can run simultaneously?

One more tip someone may find useful. We had problems with the Zipped in Groundsheet initially in trying to get the tent attached to it. We now use a silison spray (from any good ironmongers) which seems to have solved the problem. Also good for all tent zips.

My spelling is not what it used to be. For silison spray it should be "silicon" spray, I really should use a spell checker.

Hi janjstott.
             Here we go.

150 LED awning light.
Fridge/Freezer (oh yes) Waeco CF25
Electric mozzy killer (liquid type).
Mobile phone chargers.
Camera battery charger.
Leiusure battery charger.
Charger for AA, AAA, C and D cells.
Feed to kitchen tent.
Kitchen tent fluoresent light.
Electric kettle.
Induction Hob.
Feed to satellite TV sockets.
Satellite receiver.
TV old 10" colour crt type,
Wireless head set base unit, for listening to TV.

I think that just about covers it. 10amp supply is all we need, so long as everything is not on at the same time lol.

Hi acamper60,

Its no wonder you have a trailer to carry all that, and I thought we were "soft" campers with electric light, electric fan heater (necessary for this country - we have a greenhouse heater which is 1 or 2 kw or blows cold), fridge (we had a Waeco coolbox but as it had a fan it could be annoying at night, so we changed it for a dometic absorbtion fridge which is totally silent, it can also make ice cubes at 32C - excellent), electric kettle plus chargers etc. We have also now started to take the laptop which acts as a dvd player if no wifi on site. Pretend camping my wife calls it.

For info if you are travelling down to the Ardeche regularly and decide to break your journey, you may want to consider the new Kawan site at Lac de Orient near Troyes as its just off the main motorway south. It is a super location and the site is really nice with superb shower block and free wifi and its a campingcheque site also. Only drawback is restaurant is a bit dear but there are alternatives within walking distance but none of them are cheap either.

Hi jandjstott.
Well we did France last year as well, but without the trailer, although we did have a Thule 900 BackUp Box that time, fact is we had to leave a load of kit at home, but this year was great we took all the kit we needed, and the car was practicaly empty, thanks for that tip on the site at Troyes, although we do tend to use the budget hotels for overnights being just the two of us, having said that, I am taking a caravan over in May, and wil be using Val's Western route to the Ardeche, have already ordered my ACSI book so will be using a couple of £10 sites, on the way down, but commimg back will just be in the LandRover as we are leaving the van in storage, so may well come back the Eastern route, and will be using the tent for a couple of ACSI site overnights on the way back.

Hi acamper60,

Thanks for that but perhaps I am getting totally confused on materials but one thing for sure is that my 320 is definitely not polyester. It is definitely canvas but what type I'm not sure as I dont understand the differences. I have sent an email to CGI at the uksales at cabanon.com  address regarding the canopy quoting what Marsupilami said about the 320 and vis-a-vis canopies being available in Dunkerque. I'll be interested to see how long it takes them to reply and what they come up with. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Marsupilami,

I checked the Aecamp website but can't find any reference to a 320 or vis-vis canopy. Any ideas please or any other contact references?

Thanks.

I asked for help here for pitching instructions for our 440, Robert replied very promptly with 2 sets of instructions, very helpful.

(Happy to email them to anyone that need them)

Hi Marsupilami,

I seem to be having a problem getting in touch with cabanon by email. As I mentioned earlier I sent one to the uk address and I have also sent one to info at cabanon.com and have not only not received a reply but get a message from the two different source that a) in the case of the one to the uk address it could not be delivered and b) in the case of the one to Cabanon France my message had been blocked.

Have you had the same problem with emails to Cabanon? Or has anybody else who uses the forum had a problem, and if so were you able to resolve it?

Look forward to seeing any comments.

Thanks.

Hi jandjstott.
I must admit I have had better results when using le poste!, than e-mail, and always when I have written to them in Dunkerque, although it does take a while for them to reply, and somtimes I have wondered if they have a mail tray that only gets read when the UK rep Robert pays a visit to the French factory, as on more than one occasion he has done the reply, that aside I can't fault Cabanon's customer service, they have always sorted things out for me when needed, which in the end is all you want, just keep trying I am sure you will get a result. I may have mentioned before but TVS at Bolton are quite helpfull when it comes to Cabanon, as they are a service agent for them.

Hi Duffs 54,

I sent an email to the address you suggested uksales at cabanon.com as I mentioned in a previous note on the forum, but this was one of the addresses I received a note from a french mail site saying it could not be delivered. My French is not good but it seemed to offer me an alternative of cabanon_uk at hotmail.com which I am trying. Let you know if it works. Thanks anyway.
