Hi 96XJ!
I just wanted to respond to your enquiry about other online UK stores that ship worldwide. We bought our Outwell Vermont L from www.dpbolvw.net/click-1428744-10475506?url=http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk last year. They charged £12 to ship to Ireland (I know shipping to US would be more) but their price for the tent was the best we found, so we were happy to pay for shipping. We found them very easy to deal with and responded to our queries promptly.
Just to mention, we are very happy with the Vermont. As a family we are new to camping and only managed 2 weekends (2 nights & 3 nights) camping last summer. Each time we pitched the tent we got faster (we had 2 practice runs in our back garden before we went away) so dont be daunted by the prospect of pitching a bigger tent. In addition the Vermont stood up very well to our typical Irish weather,i.e. we got rain both weekends!!
We are now looking forward to our first time driving to, and camping in France in June and are hoping to leave the rain in Ireland ;-)
Best of luck! :-)

Actually after sitting down and talking it over with my wife, we hav made the decision and settled on the Kampa Tenby 6 as its has just enough room, made from the 100D Feel the deference poly. And looks pretty easy to pitch and has a rain safe door. And also has the option of a front extension canopy. And the price is very reasonable for the size and features offered.

Now we just have to search around and see who has the best deal and ships to the U.S.

Thanks Claregirl70 we will be sure to look into those websites. To see what they have to offer.

We will more than likely order the tent first and then order the extras soon after. The tent is the most important thing at this poitnt. But we will absolutely order the footprint when we order the tent, because I think that is a must.

Yep, sure did. You caught me. But in my defense I was sure I had 1 narrowed down to get but then when I sat down with my wife and started going through all the printed out sheets of tent layouts and pictures of the different tents that may work for us there was a tent that I didn't give much thought about and when she seen that one,.. she liked it over the Frinton 4 Classic, So I did some research on that tent and looked like the Tenby 6 won. So I believe this will be our new tent.

I'm gonna stop looking at tents now. That way I don't stumble across something else that looks better. Because i'm sure there's always gonna be that one more that will be better. Time to just settle with one that will be plenty good enough and start camping.

Just to let you know....you will NEVER stop looking at other tents....it's like a drug....

We started off in a borrowed tent, had a second hand one from the kids for my birthday, fell in love with the Vango Breakout...got it as an early Christmas gift from a very special friend, wanted one for garden camping to stave off the withdrawal symptons...got one for Christmas, then only a couple of weeks ago had a quick look at the free adverts on here and brought a Lichfield Challenger 5!

And then if you look through the 'show us your tents' bit on here, you fall in love with something else.

In one way, you are lucky that you don't live in the UK because you have to be brutal and practical in what you want your tent to do....if you lived in the UK you'd be as bad as the rest of us

Im sure I would be. I already have a bad habit of buying and always wanting the next best thing that comes out when it comes to offroad parts for my Jeep.

I Love to go Offroading in my jeep. And most of the time it involves camping, so im sure if I lived over there in the U.K my wife would be even more with me because not only would I be spending our hard earned money on jeep parts but would be buying all kinds of tents to go with it.
