Outwell Nebraska XXL ticked all the boxes for us and I am surprised my OH didn`t say so in his first post. OH is right though, as you can`t beat actually seeing a tent `in the flesh` so to speak, as you get a much better idea of it`s suitability then.
We talked about what we wanted in a tent before we went looking and had set our hearts on the Nebraska XL, but once we walked into the XXL that was it, we knew that was the tent for us.
It has three double bedrooms, the largest one takes a queen size airbed with space to stand at the side of it to dress and plenty of space at the bottom to store your clothes etc. This bedroom is head height throughout.
The two side bedrooms easily take double airbeds with space to store clothes at the bottom of the bed and room at the side to stand. These rooms slope slightly at the back but that doesn`t bother our two kids.
The inner room is a large area that all four of us can sit and relax in comfort, definitely room to spread out in and the porch is a great place to sit and chill with a glass of wine and watch the world go by in bad weather. Last year we spent a rather wet evening sat in the porch, watching the other peeps crowd into smaller tents with even smaller `windows`, while we sat in comfort in our tent and enjoyed the view from the large porch windows.
OK, the tent does take a while to put up, we can do it in 40 minutes, fully pegged out, but it`s fairly easy to put up, the main area goes up first, then you go round and put up the three bedrooms and porch, but it pitches all in one so there`s no putting up the inner tent then the outer or vice versa. The tent goes up all in one and you just move in!
We are aware there were a few problems with the Outwell ranges last year, we had a fault in our first tent and the second one leaked, but we had them changed with no quibble by Yeoman`s Outdoors and our perseverance has paid off as we now have a wonderful family tent.
