Oh pants! Shocked to read about the leaky Vangos! Hope all who have had probs get sorted out very soon. Just bought a Vango Killington 900 myself at the end of April and reading this thread has got me feeling quite worried as we have only practice pitched our tent in dry conditions. Reluctant to return it yet, unless we come across a prob with ours, as its such a lovely looking tent and the quality appears top notch!
This tent is permanently pitched outdoors at our local Yeomans store and I made several visits to this particular tent while considering a purchase and every time it was bone dry and standing sturdy in wet and windy weather conditions! (No puddles, unless they'd been mopped up before hand!!) We were really stuck between the Outwell Hartford XL and the Killington 900, and we went for the Killington because of the SIG - to keep bugs and the wet out! I do however, remember the sales staff telling me that the 900 is fine, and it is the 600 that Vango had recalled from them! How do we know what the real truth is?!!!
Not looking forward as much to camping this summer in our Killington as it'll be our first trip, and Ive not seen any positive comments about the 900 on this thread yet.
Hey Ho! Here's to dry and comfortable camping trips!!

Struggeld like anything to decide whether to keep ours or send it back but as newish campers who don't want to put the kids off, we decided not to risk it. Still havn't decided what to buy instead though...
We have now used our new Killington 600 and as many others the tent did leak in two areas. There were 2 puddles on the groundsheet under 2 of the bedrooms, it looked like it was coming in from the seams at the bottom, though it was difficult to tell. Didn't cause us any problem during the holiday, as the rain wasn't too heavy, though obviously it could! We have seen the update now from Vango to say they have been recalled and have rang them today to confirm (there is now a message on their own website). We will be taking it back to the retail outlet tomorrow for a refund and reverting back to our VANGO TBS QUEST 600. We are disappointed as we really liked the Killington, we will probably wait until next year when Vango sort it out :-(

Well, after much debate, net searching, forum reading and whathaveyou, have this afternoon bought a Diablo 900 in mallard/grey.Fair play to Simon at BCH Camping Trowbridge who has helped us no end and done us a fine deal on the Diablo. I just hope it doesn't leak.
Thanks to all who have commented on previous posts. You're input has been invaluable. Pitching tent tomorrow for test.... Hope its not a Killington or Outwell in diguise.

Thats what I like to hear!! What colour scheme is yours? Our 900 is to be put to the test in 2 weeks time. We have been told we need to pitch and test before any refund or replacement is offered.

hi harasiwel mine is marine/lead which i bought from allweathers, i rang them the other day because we are going away for 2 weeks in august with it so it will be really tested then, and they said that if there were any problems then just get in touch and they would sort it out and get it picked up. also what colour is yours? and do you know what colour the problem ones are?
Ours is a Mallard/Mercury. We too have had reasurance that IF there is a problem the retailer will refund/replace no problem. We bought the pre-production Kirkwood and so are hoping that it won't have the faults as the later Killington ones. The tent is exactly the same as the Killington, just the first batch which were produced under a different name.
I wonder if anyone who got a Kirkwood bargain has had the same problems as with the Killington??
All will be revealed in a couple of weeks! But I was so pleased to read your thread that you had a happy hol. We are new to this so don't want the first trip to end up a disaster.
Both of the above tents have been recalled due to water leakage.
We used ours for the first time last week in heavy rain and woke to puddles on all of the seams. Looked on Vango website to find it had been recalled, took it back to Outdoormegastore who offered a replacement or refund. Took refund and will wait for the Killington to be back in production end of July as could not find anything that matched it.

Just viewed the Killingon 600 and I have really fallen for it. The space is fab - you can imagine my total disappointment when I have read about the problems with water ingress.
We have contacted Vango and they are hoping that the problems will be resolved and the tent back on sale in 3-4 weeks.
Hope that the members who have already got this tent, have your faith restored with your new ones.
