Thanks Former Scout. Looking forward to hearing how you get on at Fieldhead as that is on our list to visit- Edale is so beautiful and quite close by. I am a bit put off by not being able to park car nearby- especially with this new ridiculously heavy tent<IMG alt=17 src="https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley36.gif" align=absMiddle> but have to try it
Well, we're back and, boy, did we have some weather: downpours followed by blue skies on Monday, typical Pennine gloom on Tuesday, strong gusts Tuesday night/Wednesday morning and drizzle.
I will be submitting a review in the next couple of days but, briefly, it is a good site in many ways but probably not suitable for my situation. We had some early-teens boys and there wan't enough space for them to play the games they wished to play (they're not riotous, I assure you!!) - younger kids of primary age are better suited to this site. Secondly, they give you a leaflet with a list of rules when you arrive and this, along with signs near the office and the website, emphasise that "Silence is required 10.30pm-7.30am."; well, the field we were on was anything but silent and was probably the loudest camping field we've ever been on for loud conversations and cackles of laughter. Finally, the trains are obtrusive in the evening/night, especially the long, heavy goods trains. If you are on the bottom river-side fields this would not be an issue (but these are the ones furthest from the car park).
Regarding the car situation, one field is right next to the car park and this probably has the best views of the valley. I guess it depends whether you camp heavy or light.
Anyway, I'll get the fuller review submitted presently. Hope that the above is of some assistance for the time being.

Hello and welcome to the forum. First post.
In this thread, comic wife says, "Hi we are going camping on Friday in our Corado cant wait,i was the same looking for a carpet and all i could find was the outwell montana carpet, both tents are the same width and the corado is a little shorter living area length so all you would have to do is tuck it under the bedroom, but i found the outwell carpets good but very pricey about £80,when i asked about a carpet for the Corado the guy seems to think one will be out next season as the Corado is a new tent,so i have decided to wait to see what Corado come up with and in the mean time i found some really nice feecy picnic rugs(the same material as the carpet) all the same colour and getting them stitched together and they fit the dimentions of the tent and have only cost me £23"
I would warn you, however, that not only are the Outwell carpets good quality, they are also quite heavy. This means that they are unlikely to slip when you walk on them. Picnic rugs, in my experience, tend to be light and slippery; you would have to be careful when walking on them.
Good luck.
