See if this works - don't hold your breath!!! Found in Search bit. Here goes..

Hi, we have a Barbados and whilst its an excellent quality tent the bags are just awful. I can recommend getting an Isabella awning bag from Waudbys. Full length zip makes it so much easier to get in the bag.

http://www.waudbys.co.uk/products/details/2520.html

We put something under the metal disc if not using our tent carpet.

Congratulations, you have a fab tent.

Hi all, just pitched our new Guadeloupe and I'm over the moon with it. I love it even more than I thought I would, so so easy to pitch, looks fantastic and I even love the part that I was put off by - no inner tent. The dividing curtain works better than a inner tent, gives you more space, and is sewn to the flysheet so theres no messing about.

I have a query though for the attention of Guadeloupe owners. I can see a small amount of day light where the two door poles go through the holes in the canvas at the top, I'm thinking to myself, surely water can get in? I have the two poles and the cross piece fixed on top, then the pins go through the holes. Is this correct? And has anyone experienced water getting in these holes?

Many thanks

Andy

Don't know the Guadeloupe but I would have thought you should have a couple of Rain Cowls

Hi, thanks for that. Yes, they would make sense, but I've just searched the bags and looked at the instructions and there's no sign of them. Can anyone else shed any light??

Thanks

Hi folks.

Just gone back through the post and noticed that photobucket has removed most of the photos, anybody know why? Webmaster or Ratty any idea?

Sorry, the photos have gone because I organised my photobucket album so it's my fault  But here's a direct link to my Guadeloupe album on photobucket if you want another nosey  Here

There are no rain cowls with the Guadeloupe - I had an old ridge tent that had rain cowls but as far as I'm aware they are not provided with the Cabanon pyramids. There was one very heavy downopour when I had mine pitched and there was no water ingress - I can't say I noticed any gaps where the poles join the roof though but there must be a little space for the spikes to fit. Haven't heard anyone else have a a problem with this so I'm sure it will be fine.

So glad you are pleased with the tent - I was sure you would be - it's such a classic, good lookig tent and the quality is fantastic, isn't it? Now enjoy 'accessorising' her!!

We bought 4 rain cowls - large ones. 2 for door poles and two for porch poles. Didn't come with the tent though. Also use Pringle tube lids for big centre pole to stop it damaging groundsheet. Just being cautious! Sorry, but I really can't remember which bag we got. Sure it was a medium awning bag but don't quote me!
Glad you're pleased with it - they're gorgeous!!

If the pole at the top of the doorway is the right way up you shouldnt need any raincaps, we have never had any leaks but have had serious amounts of rain.

Thanks all. To be honest I wasn't really worried, as there isn't a single review mentioning leaks, I was just making sure that nothing was missing (would be our luck). As you say Fostermum the quality is just superb, lovely thick cotton. This is the 2nd time we have gone from an Outwell Polycotton tent that's ended up being faulty (so refund) to a Cabanon tent. Wolf Lake 5 to Stratos TT and now Missouri River 3 to Guadeloupe. On both occasions we thought we had made the right choice. Don't get me wrong I love the big Outwells but in my experience anyway they have QC issues and cant touch Cabanon when it comes to quality. As soon as I pitched the Guadeloupe I was so glad I had bought it, just oozes style and feels so solid when guyed out, you know you are safe whatever the weather brings. I also dare say I can have this pitched just as quick, if not quicker than a Vango Airbeam which we were originally looking at.

Just sat typing this in the tent and it's really bloody miserable outside, but I'm more than happy to sit inside with a cup of coffee. Lovely place to be.

So if you cant already tell, I really really like our new tent!! Anyone that is thinking of buying one, just do it, you won't regret it.

Andy

Thanks for providing the link, I enjoyed having a nosey through those.

It's also given me some ideas for my little "restoration" project.

Anyone got the side panels for the Guadeloupe??? Are they with the money. Only place I can find them is Atwoolls and they are almost £100 each. Also, due to the fact our tent is a 2010 model, I'm unsure if the colour will match?? Does anyone know of anywhere else that sells them?

Many thanks

Andy

Yes, my lovely mum bought me the side panels soon after I got the tent. Yes, they are expensive and when I saw them I felt they were a lot of money for what you got. But having attached them they give you loads of extra space and a lovely sheltered porch area for cooking or just sitting. I love mine.

I got them from The Forest Camping Centre. I only got them a couple of weeks ago so they have probably got some in stock or can order for you. they were £79.99 each.

Give them a ring - I did as, like you, I have the 2010 colourway and wanted last years colour which they had. Tel. 01202 826822 - they are really helpful.
