We've been lucky, back in February of this year we bought an Outwell Nebraska XXL then I started reading all the posts on here and starting panicking about being in a waterfall. Great news though we were away all last week in Angelsey, we had the most horrific weather - torrential rain, hail stones and gale force winds. WE DIDN'T HAVE ONE LEAK !!!!!

I am really pleased and after getting rid of our Eurohike tent last year I'm convinced we've made the right decision.

The thing is with Outwell how many people are going to post good things about the tents. Cause lets be honest we normally post on here to point out bad things. Just my opinion don't want to offend anyone.

Erm, am I getting mixed up here I wonder; did someone say the carpet of the SV 6 would fit my guadeloupe?  Oh well, if you post sizes if and when you can, Brummygit, we'll soon know if it will fit any of my tents!
Liddenham, the SV 6 living space is 260cm x 400 .. so it's pobably an couple of cm's shorter each way .. Just a rectangle.   HTH

Hi all,
I would just like to say that i was away last week in our new montana 6 with extension in Barmouth, had heavy rain in the evening and was very pleased with my outwell, no leaks.

This is my second outwell, first being indiana 8 and find
both being surperb tents.

Lorraine.

Dean Powell - would be very interested in the Vermont XL carpet - how much do you want for the item and presumably postage would be quite high as it weighs a fair bit - unfortunately we are nowhere near to you so could not collect.  Do you ebay - if so you could put it on there as a buy it now and we could purchase.

Were off to North Devon for a long weekend in a Vermont L. And now I don't know whether I want it to rain or not. Would like to know it's not going to leak. But I don't want to spend a well earned break looking for water patches round the tent. And if it doesn't rain i'm just going to have to wait and wonder for a little longer. I'll send an update next week.
We'll...none the wiser...not a drop of rain for 4 days

I have read all this thread with great interest, I was upgrading from my Coleman weathermaster, we wanted more storage space as our family has extended, we went to a camping exhibition to view all on offer. We have decided on the Vango 900xp, the weather that weekend was mind numbing, the field was under-water but the tents seemed nice and dry, our friends are also upgrading their Outwell hartfordXL, due to the condensation in the pods, the hartford has stood up to all sorts, they have upgraded to the Outwell SV8, the interesting thing here is at the exhibition he only had the Hartfords up even tho he had the others back at the shop, now I am kind of thinking that he knows of some of the issues being said here, also when my friend put the SV8 up the shock cords were cut and there was a small hole made by a heat gun in one of the taped seems, it has been replaced and all is ok so far but we are away this weekend for a week and the forcast is not that good, I will let you know how he gets on.

Sorry to hear tales of woe...  We recently chose an Aspen 500 ahead of the Outwell Montana and we have been very happy with it.  We to were away over the very wet and windy weekend (Yorkshire Wolds Site - which sits on top of a large hill and got very blustery indeed and we would recommend to anyone) and the Aspen stood up extremely well.  Very warm and very dry..
