I'm Dave, from West Yorkshire, an' this is my first post so go easy
We've been camping and caravanning for many years. lets just say I won't see 50 again. Currently we have a touring caravan which is sited in North Yorkshire. There are a few weekends a year when I go away myself, or with a pal and usually with 2 Springer Spaniels ...... for my sins and for a while I have been using a small tent from Halfords.......... it works fine but I've decided I "need" ........... more headroom space and comfort ........ OK it's an age thing I 'spose.
I've decided on a bigger tent then ....... and ease of erection, as I may well be on my own is important; having trawled the excellent (but dusty ) archive's on here plus having a look around I've sort of decided on a Khyama, .......... then it gets more difficult
Freelander .......... nice tent, but I might regret not getting something a bit bigger
Tourer 200 ...... seems to fit the bill
Tourer 400 ...... also seems to fit the bill, and with only one bedroom in has a lot more space
Then we have the XL Classic ........ ...... little taller, slightly roomier ....... but are there any other differences I haven't spotted ........ and that's really my question ...... what's the advantages / disadvantages between the "Tourer's" and the XL
Sorry for the long winded post, hope I haven't kept you all up .... ...... any help will be gratefully received.

Now this is'nt really my forum (I'm a tin tenter) but yesterday I needed advice on a tent for my son and I was given a link to Quechua tents and lots of advice too:
Luckily there's a Decathlon store near us (www.decathlon.co.uk) so we were able to go and see the range of tents as my son liked the look of the 2 second XL. Anyway, having got the tent he liked we looked at the others and the family ones are very nice, you can stand up in them and they look fairly easy to put up. Prices are very good too!
I only mention these tents as I had never heard of them but was pretty impressed with them but, remember, I'm a tin tenter so other folks may disagree with me and give you far better advice!
Have a look at the T4 and T6 ranges on the above link, you might need to search around the site a bit more to find them. By the way, Decathlon don't do mail order.
I have got a Tourer 200, It's a great space, lots of room, can stand up in it , stable in wind etc., I can put it up on my own. When I got it I was dithering between it and the Freelander, but went for the T200 as it was more spacious. I don't know about the XL but there's been discussions recently that you will have seen if you did a search I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the thread.

Thanks for the welcome all, was nice to get rid of the sad little blue face
Liz, yes I saw that thread earlier thanks, It seems both the "Tourer's" and the "XL" are fairly happy in typical English weather ........ to be fair I suspect I will be happy whichever I go for, just trying to fine tune mi' options really
Head says ....... get a Freelander ..... everything you need and you'll be fine
Heart says ......... get an XL or a Tourer 400 and live it up a bit
Hey Ho ....... I'll take the OH with me for a second opinion methinks ........... just hope I don't end up with a pocket tent .........
To be fair though ....... if I do take the Mrs I'll probably end up with an XXL so perhaps not the best idea
Well, we've decided to get the Tourer 400, particularly as my Springer Spaniel "collection" has now increased to 3 ......... seemed to be the best one for me / us and pretty roomy, anyway I'm off in it next weekend so we'll know better after that.
