We are about to buy our first tent as a family having never camped before. My husband and I have one child of 2 but may have more in the near future so we think we should go for at least a 6 berth. We know that we want a sewn in ground sheet and ideally to be able to stand in the bedrooms. I have read lots of posts and am now even more confused than I was before!

So far I have come down to the Vango Oregon 6 or 8 or the Khyam Ontario 8. Inside space is quite important and we . When I first started the hunt I liked the Vango colorado and Diablo but have seen that the bedrooms are quite cramped.

Any advice welcome...Thanks!

You are right with thinking that you should go for a 6 or 8 berth tent. For two of us we have got a 4 berth tent, the deciding factors for us choosing a tent was all in one pitch, being able to stand up and a decent sized living area for when it rains!!

In general both tents you are looking at appear to have a nice ratio between living area and bedrooms.

We are also new to camping and after looking at what seems like hundreds of tents have decided on the vango aspen 700 dlx.Just bought one today! What appealed to us about it was the height, lots of room not only in the living area but also the bedrooms.Plus we have downloaded a pitching video which should help us ALOT !

we looked closely at the diablo but it didnt look as big as the aspen

have we made a good choice ? what do others think?

We will be taking our five kids with us (the youngest ones might come next year!!!)

practicing pitching it this week should be fun lol !!!
