Yes they are good, i bought one of this years models a couple of month ago. Easy to erect in 10 mins and they stand up to the wind very well. Nice and light inside too. I think the best price i could find was camping international £99 delivered. We are same as you Martin 2+1 and have had a few outings with rain and wind and it stood up well. It will be pitched in pickering tomorrow afternoon.
Hi folks. We're hoping to replace our Montana 4 with an Evolution 400 - car is too small for the Monty. Does anyone know if we will be losing a lot of room? We plan to use the Evolution for weekend AND week long holidays....
You would certainly lose quite a bit of living space in changing from a Monty 4 to the Evo 400, which could crimp your holiday enjoyment if the weather is poor on a longer break. Whilst the Evo's living space measurements look okay, the roof is quite sloping so the amount of useable space at full height is limited (see pic here)
Do you need to have standing height in the bedroom? Cos if that is not as important as living space I would suggest that you look at the new Vango Idaho? HERE
It has a domed living space and a tunnel bedroom - so you would have more useable living space than the Evo 400, AND a smaller overall tent package (11kg, 60cm x 20 cm size).
Thanks Foggers. Is that an Evolution I spy in your gallery? Plus I think we may have been at New Hall Farm the same weekend as you. What a nightmare getting our Monty dried after the awful rain we had. This is another issue to us. Not only is the car too small but we live in a flat and if the tent is really big, we have trouble drying it out. To this end, do you think the Evo 600 would be too big for us?
