I need advice. I want to replace my aging tent and am keen to buy a new tunnel tent. It's for two adults, my son (10) and an occasional friend. I want two good sized bedrooms, both the same size, a sewn in groundsheet (SIG), weight at around 40Kg or less and a light airy large living area. Can anyone recommend a suitable tent? Price is not the main concern, it's comfort and suitability. It seems this year it's all the rage to have a large and a small bedroom, but the small bedroom in the tents we looked at are just to narrow to take two single airbeds or a double.
I looked at the Sunncamp Vario 600 and 600+. Small bedroom too small. Why did they change from the perfect 3 + 3 on the Vario 6 to an unusable 4 + 2 arrangement? Also not keen on the window covers being on the outside the tent, easier for prying eyes to look in. Plus points, light, airy, nice colour, SIG. The Vario 6 is almost OK, 3+3 but no SIG.
Outwell Indiana 8 and Montana 6. Put off by colour of tent, the ones I saw on campsites lst year looked faded when new and put off by bad reports re leaks from fellow UKCampiters. Plus points. SIG and 3 + 3 bedroom arrangement.
Marechal Modulo range. Probably not SIG due to extendable sections, though I havent seen one.
Vango Vail. Too big and again, small bedrooms are too small for two people.
So thats it. Is there something out there which is ideal? Please let me know if any of you know the perfect tent. Thanks
