We have purchased a tent without any mud flaps.

 

What is the best way to attach our own to the tent, we initially thought velcro but we don't think that will stick.  Then gaffa tape - we are completely unsure>

 

Can anyone please help us out, we can do this but need the best idea??

Best solution? Buy another tent with draught valance all round.

Doesn't help you I know, but you should have done your homework first. Tents without a draught valance are great for use in dry, warm countries where extra air circulation is needed.

I think one or two members have tried to fit a draught valance but how much success they had I don't know. Hopefully they'll post here and let you know.

Velcro won`t stick, trust me. The only permenant method is to sew them on. I`ve done this in short sections, but it`s really hard on your sewing machine as you have to go through the folded edge layer, not the flimsier single skin. Use a denim needle, polyester buttonhole thread and seamseal afterwards.
