Hi all

I have been looking at this tent to buy and was wondering if I could ask anyone that owns it a few questions?

I wanted to know how long it takes you to pitch it and if it is easy to do with two adults?

Also is the larger bedroom able to fit a double airbed in with any room to spare? (like able to have space either side of it to set things down etc...)

Outdoor Megastore have it on offer at the minute for £185 which includes a wind breaker and canopy...do you think that this is a good price?

At the minute, it is only myself and my partner but we will soon be getting a dog, I like the idea of tunnel tents as I feel that they have so much more living space, he prefers a vis a vis setup.... do you think that this tent is too big for weekend camping only?

Sorry for all the questions, I just really want to pick the right tent, have seen both styles pitched but not this exact one and can't find it anywhere near here (Central Scotland)

Thanks in advance

Hiya,

We own the Vario 5 and love it ! We picked it up for £129.99 last summer in wales. So that, plus the canopy and windbreak for £185 isn't far off the mark - unless someone knows it somewhere cheaper ?

The bedroom will fit a double airbed in - but I dont know what kind of things you want to set down either side ? It's not that roomy but I dont know many bedrooms that are really.

Really easy to set up and we (myself and OH)have no trouble, you just need to practice with it. It wont take long.

We too were in two minds with either a tunnel or vis a vis tent and opted for the tunnel - due to bigger living area etc.

It's a lovely tent. Good luck with what you choose.

Becks.

clare,

we have just bought this tent from outdoor megastore £185 with canopy and windbreak, i think its a bargain, i dont think you will get this package cheaper anywhere, tent is very impressive, massive living space, used last week, loads of light and space love all the windows, bedroom will fit a double airbed with room to spare we used the other as a dressing room, canopy is a must for extra porch size and looks, front door needs some fiddling to get right, just pour a glass of wine or slug a beer while you`re sussing it, as with anything the first time you pitch this tent will take longer than usual but after that i reckon 30 mins max, so it should be ok for weekends, buy one you will not regret it. good luck, shep.

Use the Search Button and look for 'Gelert Lokon' or 'Lokon Vario' or something similar and you'll find loads of previous threads covering most aspects of this tent and tunnel tents in general.

Good choice of tent.

Hi.  I've just bought the Lokon 5 and I wondered if you ended up getting one and if you have used it yet.  Any experiences of it - putting it up - taking it down - etc - your comments would be appreciated.  What ever you bought - hope you enjoy! Louise
