Before anyone shouts at me I have done searches, but they're mostly on last years model and problems with zips.

I was wondering, has anyone got, and used, this years model?
We are seriously considering selling our Wynnster Pegasus 6 (lovely tent ideal for longer trips but we tent to only do 2 nights at a time) and buying this one.

It will be just for myself, hubby and youngest child. We are specifically looking for a small tent this time. We use self-inflating mats so no need to fit in air beds etc and this tent seems ideal. Never had SIG before but quite fancy giving it a go to reduce draughts. We've also considered the Vango Idaho 400 but that has a lower HH, however its cheaper and a simliar size.

I wanted to know if anyone had bought this years model and how long it takes you to put it up. This is a key factor, we are trying very hard to 'streamline' all our camping stuff (hence the mats not air beds etc) We want to be able to get away and get set up quickly not be faffing around on site when I could be sat with some nice wine

Cheers

Hi. If it was me, I'd go for the Vango Idaho every time. I've seen both up and although the footprint of the two tents looks similar on paper there is lots more useable space in the Idaho. Both tents only have three poles and I reckon the Idaho would go up as quick or quicker than the Evolution as there is a lot less threading of poles through to be done on it. Also, with the Idaho 600 i saw (you'd have to check about the 400) there is a divider curtain in the bedroom should you or your child ever want a spot of privacy. MT

Hi

We have bought this year's model and have put it up in the garden to test it. It took max20mins and is very simple. It only has 3 poles and the outer goes up first and then you just hook the inner up inside. SIG excellent. We are  family of 4 - two children under 5 and bought it for the same reasons as yourself - we wanted a quick errecting tent for weekends away rather than taking our 6 berth much large Sunncamp tent. There is enought room for a double airbed and two self inflating matresses. In the living area there is enough room to sit in with a table.

hope this helps. It is a lovely looking tent  with lots of light.

Hi i got the new evo 400 early this year and have had a few outings in all weathers bad wind and rain with no leaks what so ever. The tent does not budge in high winds i even lashed it with the hosepipe to test it when it first arrived and the zips are fine.

The 2007 model is is a great tent as above plenty of light and usable space taking only 10 to 15mins to erect. The sleeping area is plenty for two adults and two children, and the living area is ample for storage sitting etc, and you can stand up in both areas. I also looked at the idaho but chose the evo 400 and i wasn't disappointed.

At the time when i bought camping international was knocking them out at £99 deliverd to your door.
