We put up our bear lake 4 for the first time in our garden. It rained all night and in the morning we noticed marks/shapes,on the canvas? (Please see pics in gallery)
From the shape of the marks they look like the ropes and straps but we wonder why they have marked the canvas? From the inside the canvas is lighter, like that bit has not been treated or something? and from the outside its darker like it has absorbed more water.
Is this normal? Has anyone else noticed any marks in the canvas when wet?

Hi caster, sorry just uploaded pic. Had to resize it.
Thought i was going daft, well dafter That looks wierd, is it sticky, it looks like it's been packed before the proofing treatment was dry, were the marks there when you put it up?

its not sticky at all and they were not there when we put it up dry.
Im glad you think its the proofing treatment not dried as these are my thoughts also. Also when i rub the material on the inside its wet just on the lighter bits, not the darker...
I would be 99% convinced that the proofing has failed due to folding to soon, especially if it's drying unevenly, try giving it a good hosing and see if it leaks at these spots, better you find out now than when your living in it
just rang the guy from outwell shop re cover marks. He said this is normal and will not leak and it will improve as the tent gets used?? and said it is treatment proofed on a roll before tent is made so its not that its been packaged still wet.
Mmm.. we shall see. Going to hose it as the marks have gone now its dried.
perhaps nothing to get to concerned about then, maybe someone will pop up soon who has one, then we can find out, i'd just keep wetting it and drying it to see if the guy at Outwell is right
