Hi
has anyone got one of these?
http://direct.tesco.com/product/images/?R=200-1819
if so how easy are they to put up? as easy as the pop up tents look to be? went for the pull up version as for the size...just wanted a quick tent for 1/2 nighters and arriving late in the evening.
Hope I've done the right thing...just bought one on the tesco website! if not I guess I can take it back.
cheers

Had to laugh at the image!!! Family of four ... in a tent that size ... with no other kit save a small lamp and a cooker, and one mug between them ... everyone happy ... no-one fighting over the one and only chair ... and ... the sun is shining!! Won't even get cold at night with all four of them snuggled down in that one sleeping bag!
(and then there's 'real' camping!)

Dimensions given are 210cm x 240 cm....that`s probably the outer dimensions. So the four people get about 55 cm (22") of shoulder/hip width each.
If it`s for two, you`ve no problem. (Though a pop-up would have been more fun!) For four? Well, I`d probably kill at least one of my family by dawn if I was forced to sleep in this with them. Oh, and the HH is the bare minimum of 1500, and there`s hardly any ventilation. You`ll be dripping with condensation too by dawn.

Two of these would be far more comfortable, and useful as pup tents for kids.

Haha, thanks guys
It's just for the 2 of us and mainly for stops on the way to far flung places...well France. I love the pop up tents but not sure if the coleman double would fit in one properly....and i can't sleep on anything else.
I'll let you know how we get on, pick it up tomorrow and will be using it on Friday night. (wish me luck!)
PS for anyone interested got £10 off and 500 extra points!

I got a tesco pop up (same design as the kyham) 6man tent last year, for 37quid reduced from79
It was fantastic and withstood a serious gale on the far west coast.
We bought it incase the weather was bad and it would be unsafe to put up the montana.
It goes up in about 5mins so easy its silly.

I have a coleman double airbed and managed to fit it in my small pop up tent with no probs, just remember to inflate it inside the tent as I didn't and it was awkward to get it through the door inflated

I bought one of the (supposedly) 6 berth tents from Tesco last year. It was a great little tent. Took us a while to figure out how to pitch it (3 experienced adult campers gave up on it after half an hour, along came 2 x 13 year olds who had it pitched in 15 minutes.) The next time we had it done in 10 mins.
The design meant it was light and airy in the heat of a sunny day but still watertight when it poured during the night. It was very roomy for two of us, 4 would have been ok just for sleeping. It seemed very well put together compared to some tents.
I sold it after two uses because I could only stand up in the centre, for some reason when I bought it I thought it would be higher.

oops sorry...I completely forgot all about this post!
We used the tent for our first night away over the bank holiday weekend...we didn't get there till after 8pm so it was great to be able to pitch up on a matter of minutes. It was very easy to do,prob only a few mins longer than pop up tents, and there was a fair bit of room....fitted the double coleman and plenty of room round the edges for all my 'stuff' although i have no idea where I would put 2 extra people (meant to be 4 birth) even little ones would be a struggle.....but it was cosy comfy and stayed dry and upright on a rather windy/rainy night..plenty of ventilation at the top of the tent...easy to pack away and fits back in bag..yippee....i'd recommend if it's guaranteed nice weather or it's just for a nightor two...emergency tent....i'd struggle at more than 2 nights or in particularly bad weather. our Kyham Yale came up trumps over the half term rainy holiday...flooded due to naughty OH leaving vents open..grr.. and rain coming in but once that was sorted it stood up when a few others didn't!
the tesco tent looks very pretty too...heh

Caz, I'd be interested to know what tent this was, as at the moment I'm chewing my nails over one of Tesco's £50 vis a vis tents. We have enough tents (OH says) but I want to take my two kids away for a couple of days at a time over the summer. Of the 3 of us I'm the tallest at 4'10, so can't reach to put up the MOnty properly, but having tried the crawl in 3 man tent over a rainy couple of days I can assure anyone that it really isn't fun sharing a tiny tent with 2 bickering pre-teens! We want somewhere we can sit in when it rains, but without spending a fortune or buying something huge we can't manage.
Sorry to ramble.
thanks

Rose, they don't have it in this year - or at any rate I haven't seen one like it in any of the stores I've been in. At 4ft 10ins you would be struggling to reach the top to pull it up I think - I'm 5ft 2 and could only just do it.
If I were you I would look at one of the small 4 berth tunnels with a porch to sit in - the Gelert Stratus 4 is a smashing little tent that I've considered getting a few times, and it's about the same price as the Tesco vis-a-vis I had if you shop around. Or if you felt that was too big, the Straus 3 is even cheaper although not standing height.
