Hi All

I know that this has already been covered but I couldn't find the posts on a search so I'll have to ask!  We have the 2006 Monty 6 and the porch poles are the wrong size (ie too big).  What do we need to do to them to make them fit?  Is there any special method to shortening them?

Thanks for any help

Kim

Hi and thanks for the reply

They press really hard on the side of the tent to a degree that looks like it might tear something.

Hi Kim

We have the 2007 Monty 6 with the same problem and my brother has the 2006 monty 12......with same problem....

We used a small pipe cutter to hack off a small amount.............be careful not to take too much off else u will have them being too small...........

Have to say its worked a treat....

Think this is just a problem with the Montys and not that you have the worng poles for it........

Good Luck

Hi Kim

We had a Monty 12 delivered last year from Yeomans. It too had the same problems. We found the porch pole put too much pressure on the zips. Yeomans replaced it but the same thing happened. On the third outing it seemed a little better. We thought carefull pitching might help reduce it. Making sure you have the material even on both sides. (If you know what i mean.)
We are going camping next week. I've bought a universal rain canopy for this trip and we are going to use the opposite door instead!!! Much less hassle. I'll see how we get on and report back.

Yes, they are the porch poles.  Thank you everyone, we'll hack a bit off and hope for the best...they really are too tight and look like they'll rip the tent.

Kim
