Hi, Im new to the site and wondered if someone could maybe elaborate on tent pitch sizes. I recently purchased my first "growed-up" tent (Sunncamp tourist Plus 6 xp) which I love but I am booked in at a site in Newquay with just myself and my boyfriend.

The reciept they sent back said 7 nights with "one small tent" although we did explain on booking that it was bigger than a two person. Are we in for a surprise when we get there? I would hate to drive for 8 hours to be told we cant put up. Any help appreciated!

I think the tent dimensions are 5 by 5 1/2 meters

Phone them up and tell them the size of your tent - (when we had a smallish tent I used add on a metre or two).

Best get it sorted now rather than when you arrive - it wil help your peace of mind too.

Thanks Brainhertz

I have heard campsites in Newquay to be somewhat stingy o the pitch size so it might be worthwhile to just "come clean".

Don't forget to add 1 mtr all around for your guys (if you haven't already). Our tent is a big sod (ahh luxury) so when we book we tell the site the size of pitch we need. So far we have never had a problem or had to book for two pitches but we do tend to book early.

With that kind of size I'd let them know the exact dimensions as it is quite a bit bigger than your average 2 man tent.

When booking, tell them the footprint size, then they`res no arguements on arrival. In your case, it`s 5.5m x 5.05m.

It is NOT a small tent, so you`d better phone them up and make double sure you`ll fit on your pitch. If you said "a tent for the two of us" they won`t be expecting a six-man palace....and unlike many nominal 6-berth thents, this really IS a six-berther.
