Hi everyone. GF and Me are set to go on our first camping holiday in August and are looking at investing in our first tent. We were set to borrow one of the GF's parents, but I thought it may be easier to buy our own and go from there in case we break it or anything. I do not want to spend hundreds on one just yet and have seen the Vango Venture 500. Does anyone have experience of this tent? or any other reccomendations in the up to £120 range. We want a roomy tent that we are able to stand in. I know it's a bit vauge but I am a complete novice at this.
Cheers in advance
Carl

I have no experience of this tent but from all the reviews on this site i think it is a very good tent and easy to pitch, I have seen it at camping shops and it looks perfect for 2 people as a first or a weekend tent and i can say that vangos are good reliable tents as we have the vango diablo 600.My advice to you would be to practice pitching whatever you get before you go on holiday and dont take the kichen sink lol . Have a good holiday and by next year you will have caught the bug and will need a trailer and roof rack like us for all the extra gear
We are looking at going away for a week, and a lot of things i searched on here mentions it as a weekend tent. What's the difference. I really want to stay below £150 on the tent, but at the same time want it to be a tent we can use for a few years, am I barking up the wrong tree going for the Venture 500?
It just depends on how much room you like and what you want to take with you. People call it a weekend tent as it is quick and easy to put up and when only going for a few days you dont take as much stuff. You could really do with going to one of the camping stores that have the tent on display. It is difficult to tell someone if a tent is big enough for them as everyone camps differently.
