Has anyone had any experience of trying to get replacement poles from Coleman in the UK. Our Coleman Sahara 4 has just had it's steel poles bent into right angles by Woolacombes finest weather over the bank holiday weekend. Any help would be much appreciated.

Wow Steve, that must have been some wind. It might be worth emailing Colemans to see if they can help with the poles.
Ben. You can buy those poles in most shops which sell tents. As for the wind, we had no problem with the Sahara 4/5 or the 4 man Sahara Vis a Vis in the wind. However, some people with the Sahara 8 have had problems.
It was a good wind. Left the tent for the day and the wind changed direction and gusts of up to 45mph started hitting it from the side. As the tent is six metres long and two metres high it had a lot of surface area to catch the wind. I have found a company called Leisure Spares who can sell complete replacement pole sets at £107 delivered. Very expensive weekend! But I will have a lot of spare awning poles as these didn't come out of the car and so are the only poles not bent!!

We managed to find someone selling an as-new Coleman Sahara for £60 so was a lot cheaper than the £107 for replacement poles. If you still need some extra awning poles then we have two sets now so your welcome to some if you want. I will be in Portsmouth on Weds 13th June in the evening before I catch a ferry. Reply to this post if you read it as I can't seem to find anyway of contacting single members.
Yeah sounds good, I presume these are the 2-3 section poles that hold up the side panels you have spare of..?? (.....I think they have a point at either end for passing through the tent material and into the ground....). I think you get 4 poles as standard but this doesnt give much flexibility during the summer!
How many do you have spare and how much do you want for them? My email address is benribbans at hotmail.co.uk.
