Hi all,

We bought an Outwell Nebraska XL lat Friday. I had done my research or so I thought...... as we loved the layout so much and perhaps thinking the famous leaks were on the minority of tents (it was raining at the time & the demo model at Go Outdoors in Loughborough didn't seem to leak !) we decided to risk it and put it up in garden. In hindsight no suprise perhaps that the tent is leaking like a sieve in all the places people have mentioned.

Has anyone tried the Royal Pescara 8 (basically its a very similar tent by appearance anyway!) this weekend? If so very useful to find out if it is watertight? Go Outdoors said they will replace the Nebraska XL but I am thinking of asking to swap for a Royal Pescara 8 if reviews (which are scare on the net) are good.

As a newbie I've been thinking about this as well. As far as I can see the concensus is that Outwell have "serious quality control problems". This amounts to the Nebraska, Vermont and Sun Valley all leak - not all but a significant number.

The Royal Pescara 8 seems to be a better bet. I wish I knew how to add a link - try this.

The trouble is I REALLY like the layout of the Vermont XL. If someone knows of a similar layout/size tent please let me know. Or am I worrying over a relatively small number/proportion of the Outwell tents.
